I shoot classical guitar videos and use Kupo C-stands to hold main, fill and hair lights. Works great for trained models—they keep their chins up—but sitting guitarists play with their heads down, forming unsightly shadows on lower face and neck. So I use a small softbox below the mains to fill in unsightly shadows and the Kupo 4-Way Clamp is perfect for securing the softbox to the C-stand riser, eliminating the need for another light stand.

The 4-Way Clamp is built like a tank and grips the riser like a vise. It’s easy to attach and support a large video light without flinching. I use it with a Kupo Baby 5/8-Inch (16mm) Receiver, allowing attachment of a baby pin or Magic Arm.

This is a large clamp, basically designed for the lower riser of a Kupo C-stand. If you need to clamp onto the upper riser of a Kupo C-stand, buy the Kupo 3-Way Clamp instead. The clamping range is 35 to 50mm, so it’s too big for most light duty light stands.

All in all a well made and designed clamp and a near permanent fixture on my Kupo C-stand.

Sturdier and more solid than a super clamp when you have the right size 'tube' to latch on to. It is, admittedly, more of a special-purpose item, not as versatile as a super clamp, but when you attach it to a riser column (for example) it really becomes part of the riser.

I mostly use the 3-way version for mounting power packs and additional weight low on my stand.

Unlike other clamps it's of almost no use without a Kupo attachment, but get just one baby stud attachment and mount almost anything.

Installation is easy: slide into notch on 4-Way Clamp and hand tighten a large locking collar. If I were to do it all again, I’d buy the Kupo Baby 5/8-Inch (16mm) Stud, 108mm long instead. It’s the same price but the greater length allows more room for a softbox.

All in all a well made baby pin and near permanent fixture on my Kupo C-stand.

To go with this Kupo makes a couple of studs that lock into the slots in the clamps collar . It's a handy way to attach other things - flags, lights, reflectors - to a C-stand or a pipe with a one to 1.4 inch diameter. Another accessory for this clamp is an arm that supports a C-Stand arm.If you think you need a better solution than a Mafer clamp or a Cardellini clamp for this one purpose this does the job, but really it's a specialty item.

Kupo also makes a larger diameter version as well but with the larger version none of the slots for attaching studs are on the opposite side of the vise, and the larger one doesn't work on C-stands or narrower columned light stands.

The locking pin on the collar is a really good safety feature.

I use the Kupo 4-Way Clamp and Baby Receiver to attach a softbox to a C-stand riser, eliminating the need for another light stand. The Baby Receiver slides into a notch on the clamp and is secured with a threaded collar. It’s strong enough to hold a Magic Arm and video light so I’m happy. The only minor gotcha is the fit in the notch is a little loose no matter how tight I make the collar. It’s not coming out but tolerances are a little sloppy.

All in all a useful and durable receiver and a near permanent fixture on my Kupo C-stand.

This Kupo 4 Way Clamp, for 1.4-2.0-Inch is a great tool for expanding the functionality of your C Stand. Snaps on quickly and securely fastens to the stand.
Allows for 4 attachments.

Well built. As good as American. Just make sure to know diameter of pipe. This is a bigger one. Fits on stage 3 C stand but not on stage 1 or 2 as they are too small to grip. Great for making meace arms out of C Stands especially if you have Kupo Baby 5/8-Inch (16mm) Stud. You can use a 40 inch arm or two with a Cardellini instead of strap.
