I have researched a lot of "pop-up" softboxes. Some have plastic parts that people noted could melt or break. Some are 3-4x more expensive than the Fovitec.

So this is AWESOME. It's perfect for travel. Comes with a grid. And has options: an outer fabric. Middle fabric is dual-layered in the middle hotspot and then an option to screw in a metal circle bouncer in the hotspot.

I use Paul C Buff Alien Bees and had to switch out the mount with the proper one (real easy, find one on Amazon for your lighting system). Wish they had the choice of mounts, but on Amazon, they do not.

I can now travel with a great softbox, in a plane, to shoot on location. And it's basically already set-up. I just pop it open and BOOM, ready to go.

I did want to note the white fabric is "so-so" quality. It's fine, but it's not high-end. It's thicker and won't tear. But as someone who has seen many different grades of fabrics, I'd put this one in the middle in terms of quality.

Love it and I just keep it as a non-portable dish. I think for some people it could become a nuisance to disassemble, and reassemble. But keep in mind that if you receive it without directions, pulling back the metal clamp when opening and closing the umbrella, will help. Take your time figuring it out before getting frustrated and sending it back right away. If you want a quick pop-up, and takedown, this may not be the dish for you....Save the return hassles and call the company about any questions that you may have before purchasing.

Outstanding quality!. Assembly instructions not included. In my case was easy to figure out.
