TLDR: Feels Sturdy And Well Made - But The Levels Are No Good |
relatively light weight and allows fine adustment after gross adjustment with legs of tripod. Nice for panorama or panning video shots of landscapes. Matches my manfrotto tripod well. To protect the threads on top when head not attached went to hardward store and bought brass acorn nut 3/8 and leave it on. |
This is an excellent quality leveler. The Desmond DLEVX-68 will allow you to fine tune the level of your camera atop a tripod. It is very precise and the quality of the workmanship is outstanding. |
This is one of the few times a product has exceeded my expectations. For the price, I was expecting a cheap, but hopefully usable, leveler. What I received was very well machined, all the threads were very smooth and precise, and it seems to be well engineered; it's overall very well made. I would not hesitate to recommend this leveler, and if I ever need another for some reason, I'd purchase another one without hesitation. |
I replaced the ball head that came with my Neewer Carbon Fiber 66"/168cm Lightweight Portable Camera Tripod Monopod with 360 Degree Ball Head and Bubble Level, Load Capacity 26.5lbs/12kg with one of these and the indexing rotator that comes with the DSLRKIT 360° Swivel Panoramic Indexing Rotator+ 2 Way Rail Slider+ L Bracket Kit. |
Allows you to get very precise leveling on your tripod or camera stand. I use it on my camera stand which in my studio from usual shooting position has a slight lean. Allows me to level things off precisely. Big sturdy. Washers turn smooth. Nice big bubble level. Very happy with this purchase. |
This is great design, relatively lightweight/compact with very smooth leveling screw operation - build quality is outstanding when one considers the low price point. Using on Monfrotto 055CX3 tripod w/ RRS BH-40 ball head and Pentax K-1 FF DSLR. Won't be as quick to level the tripod as say a $200 RRS universal ball-type leveler but it will work for my relatively limited pano shots. 2 thumbs up! |
poor man's panorama enabler; don't need any other brackets, just mount you head on top of this. Level this and level your camera on the ball head and you are ready to pan... I was skeptical about the bubble level being precise enough to enable a stitchable panorama, but if you leave about a third overlap between shots, I have had no problems... |
The levelling mechanism works well. I use this between my tripod and the video head. My problem is with the play between the red discs and the plates that disturb all the pans and tilts. |
Great solid mount for my 360 pano head and DSLR. This makes fine tune leveling much easier while weighted then ball mounts. |
