I originally bought a Vanguard pro tripod but was too new to photography to realize that I should have bought an Acra-Swiss compatible head for said tripod. So, with my learning curve, I had to switch heads and buy this new pistol grip style head for my Vanguard pro tripod. Very pleased with this head. Sorry about the expense, but such is life. A very fine head that is Acra-Swiss compatible (and can be used with 3-legged thing, which is what I needed/wanted).

I bought this to mount a second camera for night photography, because I was so content with it's first iteration.
This unit is not as intuitive and functional as the first design. I don't know why they changed such a good design when no one else made anything similar.
Sorry, but I had to return it. Found the old version on ebay.

The thumb actuated locking mechanism is clumsy enough that using it upsets the acquired angle of the device. I have since purchased the same kind of mechanism but with a trigger actuated lock.

I bought this for a new Vanguard Alta Pro 2+ 263 CT carbon fiber tripod. I have an older Alta Pro 263 AT which has the older GH-100 head. The best part of the new head is the ability to use an ARCA Swiss L-bracket. Th one feature I like about the older model is the pistol grip squeeze handle which loosens the head allowing easy movement, then locking when the grip is released. The new model has a different release and locking mechanism which works, but is not as intuitive as the previous model. Overall I am happy with and use them both.

Item is as described. Delivery was fast, packaging was well done.

Device delivered on expectations. Very glad on the investment in the tripod mount.

Great quality, stability and control.

I was completely impressed with the amount of weight at any angle this would support and not move. The only negative I had with it was explaining to security at the airport as it resembles a pistol
