I specifically ordered this product because it showed that it natively used 1/4" threading. This is false. The product you receive natively uses 3/8" with the ability to adapt to 1/4". This is not what I needed. I'm putting together a video kit that is meant to be as dummy proof as humanly possible. Asking my intended users to deal with adapters is not part of that equation. That's why I bought a product whose picture showed it used 1/4" natively. What I received is NOT what was advertised. Take your 1 star and thanks for wasting my time. All products will be returned.

This is light and perfect. I have a couple of TreckTek Monopods (TrekPod II / TrekPod Go) with a base that can expand to a free standing base. I wanted to add a little height to them without increasing the weight. This extension is perfect. It's incredibly light, and I've even used it on my Pedco UltraPod II (a sturdy little portable tripod with a velcro strap). This is a handy device. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend that you carry one or two of these in a corner of a camera bag for special situations. They chain together, and they are incredibly solid.

* You can use it as heigh extension for a tripod (especially table top tripods)
* Very well made - light and strong
* You can use it as a selfie stick
* You can use it as a camera handle

Note the thread size and included adapter (1/4 --> 3/8). I knocked one star because I think the price is a bit too high for this product.

Very stiff, very lightweight and very stable. Just what you'd hope for in a tripod extension yet it weights practically nothing!

Tip: you can push in the outer ring of the top screw mount so that you can fit 1/4" accessories. This took me a while to figure out since it's not mentioned anywhere.

Build quality is ok, but the various parts are not well documented. For example, there are two plastic white half circle pieces that fell out when I extended the tube. Is that necessary for usage or is it trash? I have no idea.

Lightweight, stiff, secure.
Comes with a variety of 1/4 to 3/8" screw adapters and a hex wrench.
The construction seems excellent.

I got it to add height to my mini-tripod. It's light and appears sturdy. Comes with 2 adapters to fit 1/4" thread on the bottom. The top is threaded 1/4"

it is working good but only I had to buy longer screw for this. I could not use the short screw that came with it.

Very compact and "stiff" which is very important for stability, considering you're adding extra height to a tripod
