Hello, This action camera stem mount (28.6mm) was just what the doctor ordered. I had too many items on top of the handlebar. My action camera was originally located between the right grip and stem using the bar clamp that was included with the camera. It was not good due to the vibration from the mount making the camera shake too much and besides, it broke. I then decided I needed a more solid mount and it should be placed on center of bike and preferred it below the center of handlebar, if possible.

Doing some searching, I saw this mount. I also saw stem mounts that secure to 2 bolts of the stem that clamp the handlebar in place. All the 2 screw stem mounts I found were for 5mm screws, mine are 6mm. I didn't want to modify the mount and buy additional hardware required to make it work. I also didn't want the camera just in front of stem but actually under the stem. Besides, my local hardware stores didn't have the correct length 6mm screws and spacers ;-).

This stem mount was a perfect fit for my action camera mounting wishes. I wanted the camera under the center of handlebar (stem), not just in front and lower. After adding the necessary extensions (55mm) for the camera to give me my desired camera view and to clear the frame, all is good. I can now sleep peacefully.

Broke after about a month of use. Fortunately my camera is still OK.

Additionally, it couldn't tighten up enough on its own - the slots are too wide, I had to shim out the finned connector slots with tin foil.

Snug fit but I like it. I had to tap on it with a hammer to get it to slide all the way on but that didn’t affect it negatively. The attachment part was a bit of a pain to fit together because it’s narrow but I knew that having read previous reviews. I was careful not to force it on so I wouldn’t break my attachments. If you’re careful you can get it on there but you do have to use some elbow grease.

The mount works as advertised. The downside is the view it creates. No fault of the manufacturer, but it’s not a great view unless you just enjoy looking at your bars instead of the view ahead.

It was nice at first then broke within first 2weeks after having my phone mount on it and my phone feel leaving a 75% half circle. Upgrade it to something stronger or something.

This mount is all aluminum and very sturdy with reinforced threads built into the head for the thumbscrew instead of a nut that can get lost. Fits perfect on my neck for mounting an Osmo Pocket without taking up handlebar space.

I bought this to mount a bike light. It works very well and kept the light off my bars.
