This third party lens collar is what Tamron should have included with their lens, i mean, as much as a company wants to save on parts in order to be able to offer a lens for a lower price, i don't thing the mass production of this collar would have costed Tamron more than $0.50 cents and include it with the lens. Fortunately, there are companies that fill the gaps other leave open. I am glad i was able to buy this much lower priced lens collar for my lens, and didn't have to pay the ridiculous amount of money Tamron wants to charge for theirs.

This mount ring connects to the Tamron lens without issue. It has a mark that lines up with the horizontal and vertical marks on the lens for easy alignment. Fit my mono-pod and tripod perfectly as well. It holds the lens snug and secure without marring the lens. Save yourself some dollars and get this mount ring over other brands.

They mis-interpreted the Arca-Swiss specs, making the tripod foot too small for many or most tripod heads. I had to return mine because it was too loose on my Sirui and Arc-Swiss ball heads. Otherwise it's a reasonably nice collar, which is why I'm giving it two stars instead of one.

I'm new to photography and a lens collar was something I didn't know existed or realize I needed until I learned my new lens was going to double the weight of my little DSLR. It seems a 3rd party collar for the Tamron 100-400 was non existent until a few weeks ago. Found this one on a whim on Amazon and was glad to be able to get it prime, arriving the same day as my new lens. Took me a minute to get it to fit right, but it fits snugly and I had it set up on my tripod last night without worry that my lens was going to warp my camera mounts or that the tripod would drop my glass. Happy so far.

Nice alternative to the factory mount..at one quarter the price..goes on quickly and securely..looks to be of above average construction..foot could be a little stronger..but looks like it will last fine..only quibble i have so far..is it seems to drag a little when you move the mount from horizontal to vertical position..the teflon? Strip on the inside(that is there to keep it from scraping on the lens) seems to be pretty thin ..just an item to be cautious about.not to scrape the lens body...all in all a bargin at a considerable savings over the factory unit!

A decent collar, but teflon (?) strip seems a bit thin and I am concerned about scraping the lens barrel at some point. As another reviewer mentioned, it would seem that Tamron could produce a similar product at a similar price rather than about 4x the cost of this collar.

Bought my new lens tamron 100 400 and have a good tripod. The lens was just too heavy for the camera mount but I didn't want to pay 130$ for a lens collar. Thinking I'll get better after i figure how to work with this inconvenience was a bad idea. Missed goog shots of grandson waterboarding. Rather than pay 130 I thought I'd make my own. Too much thinking and hit Amazon. This product did the trick. Solid and no worry about slipping.

I finally got a tripod and have had the opportunity to test out the collar. I'm not a lens collar quality expert and I've never seen the Tamron version but I find this collar entirely adequate. I find that it's sturdy and is easily fitted to the lens. The collar fit perfectly with my Arca-Swiss tripod head. I had put off buying the Tamron and I'm glad I did. Also, I misplaced the packet with the plate screws and Allen wrench but after an email exchange with Elefront I received TWO replacements in a few weeks. So a very good product and a very good vendor.

It doesn't fit on the main tripod brands such as Leofoto, Sirui, Vanguard...The plate is too small so it can't be held.

Brilliant, saved myself $130 buying this over the original Tamron version -both do exactly the same thing, this is cheaper - simple maths

Excellent good quality
