Zeiss makes wonderful lenses, but recent lens series (ZM, ZF and ZE) have been supplied with a less than successful style of plastic lens cap for the front of their lenses. The old style would pop off all too easily sometimes if not placed on the lens front just so, and yet they were hard to take off the lens with gloves on. This new cap design is vastly superior, it goes on easily and stays on reliably, yet isn’t hard to take off when using thin gloves. Though designed for the 12mm Touit, this cap also fits other lenses with a 67mm filter thread. I’ve used the 67mm Touit cap on Zeiss ZF.2 SLR lenses, because I haven’t got the 12mm Touit, and it fits fine on the 50mm/2 and 100mm/2 Makro Planars and the 25mm/2 Distagon. The cap can be used with or without the lens hood in place on these lenses. Looks nice with the blue Zeiss logo too. |
