When I looked at the picture of what's in the box, the ring-shaped hood mount for the tulip hood was shown as a separate item. I didn't find it in the box. Although I was able to mount the hood, I couldn't reverse it over the lens for compact storage. I contacted Veatree, who worked with me very professionally and resolved my question. The hood mount snaps into and out of each side of the tulip hood! Aha! Nothing was missing. The hood comes out of the box ready to put on the lens. When you're done shooting, it's easy to reverse the mount so you can reverse the hood for compact storage. Veatree sent me the attached video, which clearly shows how it's done. Take the hood off the lens (don't forget to remove the lens cap first!). Unsnap the mount from the outside of the tulip hood, reverse the hood, and snap the mount into the inside of the hood. For easy reference, keep the lens size marker on the mount (e.g., 67 mm) facing you, and just turn the hood over so that it either faces away from you (to use the hood) or toward you (for compact storage). Then screw the hood back onto the lens, and you're good to go. Thanks to this excellent, responsive Chinese vendor. |
I needed a reversible hood made from hard plastic that could fit a lens cap. This had that plus a cap lanyard and the retractable rubber hood. All the items are held on with actual metal threaded rings instead of plastic threads. The tulip hood snaps on and off off the added threaded ring to reverse it. The cap seems to stay in place with all of the hoods in use. There's even a little tool included to help thread the lanyard into the cap. Seems like a reasonable product and I would recommend it if you don't want to pay Canon's prices for accessories. |
There's not much to say. The two lens hoods do the job. With my Canon EF-S 18-55 IS STM lens, the rubber hood will show up in photo when the zoom is at and around 18mm. This quickly goes away as I zoom the lens. However, that is not a problem because the rubber hood is adjustable to 3 lengths. The middle setting does not show up. The tulip flower hood does not show up at all in the photo at any lens setting. I keep this one on all the time. It is good to help protect the front end of the lens along with the UV filter I always have on the lens to protect the optics. The pinch lens cap is as good as the original Canon cap. Good quality and a decent price...I'm happy with this item. |
I just got this set so this is a first impression. I think this is a good value and a clever kit. |
Recently, with the low sun in the sky at this time of year, it became obvious that a lens hood was a necessity for my Lumix camera. I ordered this item, because it seemed to be exactly what I needed at a reasonable price. The item was received very quickly, ahead of schedule, and was perfect for my needs. I really like the fact that the larger lens hood is collapsible when on the camera, and that lens covers can be used whilst both lens hoods are attached. Definitely would recommend. |
Very pleased with this set.I bought it for my Lumix fz82 and they fit easily.I especially like the rubber one as it quickly folds to different sizes so I can adapt it to different zoom postions. |
I lost my Canon original lens hood (which was twice the price for one hood). Veatree provides, two hoods, loving the adjustable rubber one. The lens cap attachment looks like a good design addition allowing me to attach/detach quickly and knowing where the cap is. I have to try it out but it looks like a good addition. |
The reversible tulip lens hood works very well. The clip on action ensures that the hood stays on when using it or when reversed on the lens. This is the only element of the package I have so far used. |
I'm very pleased with these hoods. They are easy to fit and secure when on camera. |
I bought this set simply for the Tulip Hood, the other bits and bobs are still in the wrapper. So with that in mind - the hood is excellent - it does what it says on the tin. On my Panasonic DMC-FZ72 the hood clips on and off effortlessly and does reverse without any issue when lens is fully retracted. The mounting ring is a little thicker than a filter but does incorporate a screw thread so you can insert a filter into the mounting ring which means that you don't get too much vignetting at short focla lengths. My shortest focal length is 20mm and there is the smallest amount of vignetting right in the corners, none at all when moving over 30mm. For the price you cannot go wrong. |
It all looks well and good quality. At first I had trouble putting the tulip lens on in revers but after contacting the seller it was solved quickly. Very good costumer service. Would recommend |
No matter how far you collapse the rubber lens hood it causes a vignette at your widest focal length. It's ok if you zoom out but I have no interest in continually swapping the hood whenever I wish to go from zoom to wide angle. |
Well packaged, arrived in good time and plenty of accessories in the bundle. 1 issue: the 52mm lens hood isn't currently reversible, the base ring doesn't fit my lens so the lens only fits in the forward position. Have contacted the makers and awaiting a reply. |
This a brilliant dual pack of lens hoods! |
Very good for the price. I used it on a Sigma 100-300mm lens. I like and used the rubber hood. The cord for the lens cap was a bit fiddly to put on but didn’t take long. The metal pin supplied I didn’t need. The instructions were photos but quite adequate. It’s nice to have in addition the Tulip Flower lens hood too. |
This is the third product I have bought has a number of different lens sizes. I love the usefulness of the rubber hood. It offers great protection for your lens and very versatile if you use a number of zoom options (28-300). You need to be very careful a the low end of the range as the rubber can interfere with your photos if you're not careful, always remember to pull the rubber right back. I would not hesiate to buy again. |
Filters of good quality and fit well, the tulip lens is quick to attaché and remove although wont fit back in reverse on my Sony DSC-HX400V as the outside diameter of lens is slightly too big to accommodate the lens hood in reverse but this is no real problem, in case your wondering the rubber lens hood is not a push on fitting but a normal threaded type |
I purchased this item for my Sony DSLR camera as it was much cheaper than the branded option. |
I brought this for my Panasonic Lumix fz-82 after an extensive search for a lens hood that would fit my camera I found this one and thanks to another review I learnt that it would, it arrived quickly and was more than what I hoped for, it's everything it says on the box and more only used it for a second but can't wait to take them out for a test run. I 100% recommend these! Thanks again |
