I am a hobbyist photographer focused mainly on capturing everyday imagery: family, travel, architecture, and the like. While I realize there's debate among photographers about whether it's necessary/useful to use a protector filter, using a clear filter on my lenses takes away my anxiety about damaging my lenses and lets me focus on taking pictures. I like knowing I can just replace the filter if something happens. So, for me, it's worthwhile.

I've used B+W XS-Pro clear 007 filters on all of my lenses, and I've never had a problem. The construction is solid (brass), the fit and finish is perfect (never had a problem screwing them on), and I haven't noticed any image quality degradation or vignetting (subjective and anecdotal, I know). This particular filter sits on a Fujinon XF35mm F2 R WR, and, as expected, I have no complaints.

I bought this for my Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II camera, it was tough making sure I bought the right size for my Olympus 25mm F1.8 lens. I was able to attach this onto my lens. It's very clear, and will protect the front of my lens. I have taken several photos with my camera, and have not noticed any issues with this. It seems to be a sturdy metal ring with a clear lens. For less than $40, this is a great product!

I will update this review if I run into any issues.

I ABSOLUTELY HATE SPENDING $30 on something that doesn't add to the quality of my shoots, however it is by far the best protective piece of glass I have owned. I always used a UV filter, which adds a bit of tint. Wish I would have bought one of these way sooner. The flares are very controlled and almost identical to the lens flares without the filter.

Have used the HD2 Hoya and Marumi EXUS clear filters besides this, and decided on the B+W for all my clear filters since it has the best combination of build and optical quality among all of them. Still must be taken off at night when point light sources are in the frame due to mirror image ghosting, which is a problem with digital because the sensor surfaces are so much more reflective than film. But when you need a protective filter, this is the one to go for.

i have a leica x113 and the stock cap is poorly made and easily falls off with the slightest tap. as such, I was constantly scared of scratching my lens. This was purchased just to protect the lens and it does a great job. This fits great and doesn't affect my images negatively so for that itself, it gets 5 stars.

I use these clear or UV filters on all my Leica M lenses for protection. They have really great MRC coating on them and anti-glare coatings. Super clear glass. The XS-Pro are thinner albeit heavier than Leica filters but are stronger and somehow have clearer glass. Ive never tried Zeiss filters but these are by far the best clear/UV options and well priced.

The XS-PRO filter works well with my Leica D-LUX Typ 109 with one exception...I am not sure if this is a problem with the camera or the filter but it will not stay tightened to the lens barrel. Just light use of the lens cover will cause the filter to loosen. I have screwed it down as tight as I'm comfortable putting the pressure on the lens barrel however, the filter will still loosen.

Nice filter. I put it on my fuji 35mm F2 lens. With Fuji XT-1 body.

39mm filter is hard to find. I got this protective filter for my collapsible Summicron that has a front element crispy like chalk (pic.1). Quality of B+W filter is undoubtedly good. The protective filter has little if any effect on image quality. Pictures still have razor sharp edges and buttery soft bokeh through the filter(pic.2). A bit expensive though. Was in Germany a year ago and spent about €30 in a digital market for TWO 49mm filters(same thing, different size). This very one costs over £30 plus P&P plus import tariff, overall nearly £50 to have it delivered to China.

This filter is built to a very high standard. The mount is made of brass and the MRC coating on the glass really helps reducing reflections and I did not notice any decrease in image quality. The mount of the filter is fairly slim so it should not cause vignetting on wider angle lenses. The coating is also supposed to repel dirt and water, though I've yet to see that. All in all, you really get what you pay for and in my opinion, this filter is absolutely worth the price.

Doesn't fit under metal hood on the Leica 35mm summilux, otherwise looked a fine piece of optics.

Filter was in very good condition and received also, Filters today seem to be quite pricy, otherwise fine.

Superb quality and engineering

If you need a high quality filter, you can't better B+W. Not cheap but certainly the best.

It's low profile, very light, and crystal clear. Excellent protection for my lens. Probably the best!!

I have used many other filter brands over the years but return to b+w despite the price because they are the best.
