Digital HT filters are a state-of-the-art technological breakthrough in multi-coated photo and video filters. Made for the discerning professional and imaging enthusiast, Digital HT filters with Hi-Trans Double-Sided Titanium Multi-Coating surpass even military specifications for hardness and durability. Digital HT - High Transmission - filters offer the strength of a Titanium coating combined with the purest optical quality glass and Tiffen’s Academy-Award-winning ColorCore technology. They present unmatched scratch-resistant durability and worry-free cleaning while other coated filters on the market today cautiously suggest delicate, if any, cleaning procedures, in fear of destroying the coating (and thereby the filter). And that’s not all – these High Transmission filters feature a low profile titanium finish ring and anti-reflective black lock ring which sets these filters apart from the rest. Features • Made for the discerning photographer from the purest quality optical glass • For digital, video and photo • Offers ultimate protection for your camera lens • Protects lens against dirt, grime, fingerprints and damage • May be kept on your lens at all times • May be combined with other filters and still provide the highest quality image with maximum detail capture Tiffen Digital HT Titanium Coating Tiffen’s research and development team has conquered the challenges of multi-coating. No longer is your investment in a multi-coated filter subject to the everyday challenges of dirt, humidity, and potential scratching which can render your multi-coated filter useless. Along with the extreme toughness and durability, Tiffen Digital HT Titanium Coating features excellent Anti-Reflective and Transmission (HT – High Transmission) characteristics. The Titanium coating consistently reflects less than 1% of the imaging light hitting the front surface of the filter while transmitting nearly 99%. You cannot buy a better filter to protect your digital camera lens, and reduce unwanted UV light in sunlight. I have been using Tiffen filters for 40 years without complaint or quibble. This filter puts other haze and skylight filters to shame. The AR (anti-reflection) coating prevents flare using the highest level of the art. In most cases you can forget the hood on your lens.
The filter is pretty weighty and feels really nice in the hand. It’s very clear and when shining a light onto it you can see the light source’s color changes signifying the existence of a coating on the lens. The lens is easy to clean when using a quality microfiber cloth. Smudges and dust simply wipe off with ease. Also this filter doesn’t have the problem of where dust would accumulate on outer edges of the glass. Where the dust is difficult to get rid of. I have this problem with a few of my Breakthrough Photography filters and am glad this doesn’t happen to this filter.
I ordered a couple of these filters in a hurry after buying a new, very expensive lens, and honestly, was just in a hurry to put something on it. I figured I'd replace all my other 77mm filters at the same time. I'm a professional photographer and do a lot of volume on the go, so when I saw one of the filters had a BIG scratch across it I breathed a sigh of relief that this filter protected my glass!... until, that was, I noticed not even a month later with minimal use that another lens with this filter had a scratch about the same depth in it. I work my lenses hard, but not THAT hard. A more expensive lens filter I had on for years didn't even have close to the length or depth of these scratches. I can't say for sure that something in my bag wasn't sharp and scratching everything up, but I definitely don't think these filters are as protective as other, more expensive ones. If your lens has a very easy life/lives in a studio, sure, this will protect it from dust and finger prints, but I don't think it's going to save it from a fall or direct hit. I wouldn't buy again unless I was literally in a camera store buying a new lens and it was the only protective filter on site. Something is better than nothing, but in this case, I'd just save your money and buy better.
I bought one for a couple thousand dollar lens just to protect it. Shortly thereafter ordered one for every lens I own! I 100% recommend this product the quality, cost, clarity is unmatched in any filter I’ve seen on the market. Side by side shots display zero filter. You would never know that a filter is on your lens. The glass is as pure as it gets! I also love the silver/titanium finish. Pops on a black lens
*Updated* November 2019. With near surgical handling of the lens. A simple microfiber with lens cleaning fluid scratches it badly. Only noticable in sunlight. It's in bad shape. Just go with a promaster prime filter.
This filter saved my expensive telephoto lens which is why I always have a filter on my lenses. This purchase is replacing the one that got cracked by a busy puppy sitting by me. No fault of this filter for cracking. It saved the glass in that lens! Good clarity & fits well/threaded correctly (have had others that don't/aren't). I've had good experience with Tiffen brand filters over the years.
This filter seems great. I haven't noticed any ghosting yet due to the multi-coating. It seems very durable though surprisingly heavy. I have it on my 12-24mm Nikon (w/ DX sensor) and haven't seen any vignetting. Great value for money.
Haven't seen any impact on my images using these filters. They come in a nice little pouch that I have re-purposed for a spare battery and small SD card reader (I don't plan on ever taking the filter off). They are silver, so they stand out. Obviously that impact is completely aesthetic.
Fitted to a Nikon 70-300 AF-P, the filter doesn't seem to introduce any reflections or other issues that I can detect. The filter is a little thinner than other filters I have used, so the standard 58mm Nikon lens cap just about manages a secure fit but doesn't fully seat itself. So far this hasn't been a problem and I don't anticipate it becoming one either. The filter ring is silver-grey in colour so it does stand out against the usual all-black finish of most camera gear.
It does the job well
Filter macht einen sehr guten Eindruck, somit Top, aber....
This is an excellent well made product, well worth the price! I use it on my 85mm Nikon lens.
arrivato come previsto
