In StockYou may have a cell phone, GPS device, game console, or camera that used a micro SD card... but your computer only receives an SD card! This device allows you to place the micro SD into the SD card, and use it in any SD card reader or SD media port on a computer, just like any normal SD card. This makes it super easy to transfer data between your device and a computer, whether it's your child's birthday pictures, video from your cell phone, or tracking data for one of your GPS-enabled devices. Like with any memory, I always do a memory test to ensure the memory is genuine. I did verify this micro SD card and the capacity is genuine. During the test, this micro SD card did not get super hot. It did get warm but nothing that is dangerous and I would say this is safe for use with any device. I use this for my niece and nephews android tablet. It provides enough memory and is a fast enough class to use for running applications. The 32 gb capacity is correct and the transfer speed is okay however the class 10 is a bit on the older side in this day and age. That being said the transfer speeds all depends on the medium you are using to transfer. I transferred through the USB 3.0 card reader and it was relatively fast. I was able to get everything transferred within 30 minutes. If you are transferring through the tablet however you should expect an extremely long transfer speed. This card does not require any formatting unless you are plugging this into your mac because it requires a certain format to transfer things onto the card. It does come with an SD card adapter to allow you to put this into your camera. It will work with any SD card adapter which is great if you want to use this for a camera. That being said, the read and write speed is pretty decent. It can write pretty quickly so you do not get much lag between picture or video picture. The adapter provided is just a generic adapter but I do not see much different between that and other adapters I have. Overall I think this is a good micro SD card. It is a good amount of space and will work for pretty much any device that can utilizes 32 gb. The transfer speeds is okay but again all depends on medium. I will say as well that this is great for children's tablets. It allows me to put a good amount videos and such that my niece/nephews may watch as well provide additional room for extra applications (this is all on an android tablet). |
Dashcams? Phones? There are lots of devices that MicroSD cards go into, but what's the right application for the Unirex 32GB Micro SD Card with SD Adapter (MSD-325)? |
I recently had an issue with my cell phone that required I purchase a replacement. I'm not the type that has to have the most current phone, so just wanted an exact replacement for my Moto Z2 Play as I use two of the Moto mods regularly on it (the extended battery that can last 3 days and the projector that works amazingly on walls) so when changing over, I decided having extra memory would be nice. Installing this micro SD card was a snap and I now have as much memory available in the SD card as the phone came with. I haven't yet reached the half-way mark of memory use on the phone itself as I do remove photos to an external hard drive regularly, but I feel much better having this micro SD card's memory available just in case. I have the adapter available should I want to change out the SD card and use it on my laptop. I have another, small laptop with a micro SD card mounted in an adapter to provide that small laptop with extra memory/storage, so I know that adapters work well when mounted in laptops. Clear off junk, move photos to external hard drives and have these SD cards mounted in your existing cell phone, tablet and/or laptop and you will have their use quite a bit longer and that's a good thing! Start with getting this one - great memory size! |
Micro-SD cards have been around for a while, and lately they seem to have become the standard format for things like dash cams and Android tablets. Like full size SD cards there are actually four different micro-SD formats: SD, SDHC, SDXC, and SDUC. Each is downward compatible with earlier formats but you can’t, for instance, use an SD card in a device intended for SDXC. There are also multiple write speed classed, read speed classes, and video speed classes. This card is stamped SDHC, A1, V10, and UHS speed class 1, all of which which implies it has a sustained read/write speed of 10 mbits/SEC and that it should be sufficient for standard (non-HD) video and any still photo applications. It says nothing about the reliability or longevity of the card, or how many read/write cycles it can handle, and that’s why I’ve always relied on name-brand cards from major makers for critical applications. This card will be used in a tiny GoPro-like camera marketed by Polaroid that I use for non-critical hobby applications, like being hoist by a kite or mounted on a bow. For critical applications like dash cams I still prefer cards from companies like Samsung and SanDisk. |
