I just upgraded to full frame system and my choice of camera was the 7r ii because my choice of photography is landscaping, I did about six months of research among all lens with focal length of 20-70mm and after hours of YouTube videos and written reviews I finally went for this lens. This lens doesn’t disappoint, it is sharp and its auto focus is just as fast as other more expensive lenses. This is agreat value and you won’t be disappointed. |
So far so good! I know some have been having focusing issues but our copy doesnt seem to be affected by it, atleast yet. The images are super sharp and the bokeh is very creamy. The extras were all ok, i sold most of them because they are just there to mark the price up. I know i spent $50 over retail, but with the backorder issues Tamron is dealing with, it was worth it. Paired with the A7iii it is just amazing! No focusing issues, thus far in both video and photo! |
Note that you are doing a 180$ gamble. Either you have a good copy, or have bad copy and will suffer a 20% restocking fee because the manufacturer didn't get it right. Buy it ONLY from a store where you can test it against a known-good copy. |
Not saying anyone should purchase a lens for the free accessories, but with so many sellers listing the Tamron lens at the same price the freebies are what help to lure you in. If you think the backpack in the product pic looks useful at all forget it. It's very thin nylon and has no structure to protect equipment. I thought the little round bag beside it was an extra bag, but no. It's attached inside, and the entire backpack crumples up and fits inside the small bag. They must have stuffed the one in the pic full of paper or foam to make it look better. Aside from that everything arrived quickly and in good condition. Just wish I had chosen the other seller offering a backpack that was a little smaller, but actually looked useful. |
When I moved to Sony Mirrorless recently, I originally purchased a (used) Sony 24-105mm f4 with my a7iii and it was great. But after more research, I discovered this lens and read all the good things about it. So I put the Sony lens up for sale and ordered this one. |
Lens is okay, not as versatile as the reviews say. 28 is not an angle that’s wide enough compared to Sony’s g master which goes for 24-75mm. Sharpness is good but not great. |
Good autofocus, great usability, solid picture quality, easy to use for photos or videos. Works great :). |
This is my new favorite lens. It stays on my camera 23/7 (I sometimes switch to the 55 1.8 or 85 1.8). I hate the extremely high prices for the Sony lenses so the fact that I can get this type of quality and this utility in a 2.8 lens for THIS price is awesome. My only complaint is that it’s not very wide with the 28mm, but that’s ok, I just take about 10 steps back if I can and do my best. |
