"This Kevlar in-wall speaker offers the perfect combination of performance and style. The use of aramid fiber for the woofer means that the speaker can hit harder, go lower, and handle more power with significantly less distortion than conventional drivers. The titanium silk dome tweeter produces clean, crisp, and clear highs and mids.
You can fine tune the blend of sound using the built-in high frequency attenuator in case your room is too bright. The metal grille can be painted to match your ceiling. Easy to install with simple hand tools, less time working and more time relaxing.
All Caliber series in-wall and ceiling speakers are sonically matched to provide a uniform sound stage across you entire listening area. Simple two channel listening rooms to full screening rooms with 7.2.4 Atmos and DTS-X immersive cinema systems will benefit from the matched components of the Caliber series installation speakers.

He have this weird 'nook' area under our staircase that really makes this subwoofer kick. There's an area about 5 feet under the staircase of just empty space, so we mounted it in that 'void'. First, it looks great! Very low profile. Second, the speaker is high quality - you can tell that before even plugging it in thanks to the weight of the magnets used. Third, we have a 4k sqft 3 story house, and this is installed pretty much right in the middle. The plan is to use the sub in conjunction with the 8" micca speakers (also fantastic, and a bargain at $40/each) to add some bass. I'm not kidding, this puppy shakes the entire house to the point that I have serious concerns it's going to piss off the neighbors - and everyone in our neighborhood has acre sized lots. If you're like me, and think 'feeling' the music is as important as it's clarity (especially when you want to dance around your house like an idiot), then I'd highly recommend this sub!

I purchased these 3-way speakers to use as rear surround speakers. The pictures undersell just how large they are. You'll be cutting a scary large hole in your drywall to mount them.
One of the reasons I bought these speakers is because of the "paintable grill." And while that is technically true, after you paint the grill, you'll be left with a white border all the way around the speakers. Fortunately, the speakers are held into the frame with six screws. If you remove those, you can remove the speaker and easily paint the plastic frame along with the grill. I used a $2 can of black spray paint and did everything. They look great.
Most houses have studs placed 16" apart, so that gives you about two inches on either side when cutting the hole in your wall. After taping the template to the wall and making sure it was straight, I used a Rotozip to cut out the drywall (get ready for a mess!). The template is the exact minimum size needed, so I had to go back over the cut and make it slightly larger for the speaker to drop into the hole and sit flush with the wall. Don't let your wife see the hole in the wall before the speaker is installed because it's going to look huge.
The speaker mounts to the wall with a series of tabs that spin into place and tighten as a screw on the front of the speaker is turned. I used an electric screwdriver with a long bit to reach the screws. If you do that, GO SLOW. The minute I felt resistance on the driver, I let go. Before inserting the speaker into the wall, make sure all the tabs are vertical -- that will allow them to "spin outward" (it'll make sense when you do it). You can install the speaker with a screwdriver (manual or electric), but I would be careful if using a drill as I could see these tabs breaking fairly easily under stress.
If I were going by sound alone, I would rate these speakers 5/5. Don't let the price fool you -- they sound great. The tab installation system keeps them from vibrating or rattling. I docked the speakers one star because one of them arrived with one of the tabs already broken off and I didn't notice it until after I had started painting them, which was too late to return them. My only concern is that if the speakers ever quit working, I'll either have to replace them with the exact same model or learn how to do serious drywall repair.

These speakers look great and sound pretty good. They aren't for the faint of heart, however. To install them, you will be cutting a hole in your wall that is about 12"x9" to place them. I put a batt of Rockwool insulation in the wall before installing these to keep them from resonating the wall. It also cuts down on being able to hear them on the other side of the wall which for me is the kitchen, but for you it may be a bedroom or other area you don't want to fill with sound.
They have spring terminal connectors on the back and I dropped the speaker wire down the wall. I cut a hole and soldered the other end of the speaker wire to a spring terminal audio plate at the bottom of the wall under each speaker at the same height as the power outlets to give it a finished look. Connect your amp to the spring terminals and you're done!

Bought these for my office. They sound amazing... of course, with my nice sub but, for the price - they look and sound great! I compared them to my other room's Polk Audio - well, not much difference! I thought this was amazing deal! a real BANG for the buck :) I installed them of course with dynamat and accoustic foam behind the walls - and that made so much of an impact that these sound like very expensive speakers! They also matched my home decor. So, i am very happy.

Was a little disappointed because after reading multiple reviews and reviewing multiple questions and answers about this listing, I thought I was getting a pair of woofers although the listing stated "Each" (was my main reason for buying0. However I received a single woofer in the package. I haven't installed it yet because I am still trying to figure out a way to hook this up with 4 2way speakers on a single 4 channel receiver.

I bought the 8" driver speakers and I'm incredibly impressed. Being an audio freak I can say I had absolutely not anticipated the quality of sound I was going to be getting out of these speakers.
They absolutely can be used as stand alone stereo 2.1 speakers. That being said I'm using them in a 6.2 setup and they sound incredibly crisp.
Mine are installed in a drop celling and I made backer boxes out of foam for them. This was not needed but they do sound better with the boxes. I would say in a wall space they would be great but my ceiling is wide open and the box sounds better than the infinite baffle.
Thank you Monoprice this speaker is amazing!!!!!!!!!!

I installed this to use with my 7.2 surround system. It’s hooked up to a Yamaha receiver. I added a 100 watt amp to it and it sounds great! I only have the amp set to just over half power. I was worried it wasn’t going to be as good as my power sub, but it is as good or better. Like I said it is married to a 7.2 system, but I only need the one subwoofer. No need for the second...for now.

I read the reviews before buying these speakers and was rolling my eyes at the people having issues with the installation clips. Well, they weren't wrong. Don't let that scare you though. Overall, speakers are amazing and would recommend them to anyone. Here are some tips to help with installation.
-Remove the screw and clip and with them off of the speaker, screw the screw all the way into the clip and then remove the screw. I found the clips were a bit tight and caused some of the issues. Once done, reinstall the screws and clips as they were originally. -Before installing the speaker, go to each clip and tighten so that it gets into the guide-channel. You may need to guide it into the center. Then back off the clip until it just barely can spin out of the way. This will keep the clip in the guide-channel and help it tighten properly. If it's too loose (like mine were originally), they went in crooked then stopped tightening.
Hopefully this helps someone!

These sound better than I expected. The price is great, and easy to install.
Would have given 5 stars except the mounting clips are a little micky mouse. They don't work to bad, but I had a problem getting one on each speaker I installed to screw in properly. took it out and ran the screw through it a few times to loosen it up and it work fine.
I would definitely buy these again.
Just a tip, make sure you know where your studs are before diving in to this project!! lol

I wanted to upgrade my speakers I had set up with my turntable and receiver. I previously had in wall 2 way speakers and was not happy with the sound quality, etc. I had found a nice pair of bookshelf speakers (used) online that had a rich sound. My wife, unfortunately, did not like the appearance of them (too much like a dorm room). I was told I can buy whatever speakers I wanted, they just had to be in wall. I wanted a 3 way speaker (old school I guess) and also something that wouldn't rattle if the volume was turned up. After some internet research I came across the Monoprice brand speaker. Easy to install, but the sound quality is somuch better / richer than my previous speakers. I've recently acquired a more powerful receiver and the speakers handle it no problem. Standing on the other side of the wall during use, the sound is almost all directed forward. There was significant sound projected backwards with my old speakers. Love these speakers. Planning to add centre speaker and 2 rear speakers in future and will be looking at Monoprice for these as well.

The speakers sound very good. I use them as fronts in a home theater setup and they are good for sound detail. They lack bass but that's the subwoofer's job.
My complaint is with the seller who shipped the item to Canada from the US without any prior warning. I rechecked the invoice and there is no mention about international shipping. Turns out I was hit with $75 brokerage fee. The seller never responded to the emails and Amazon pretty much said they can't do anything about it. I recommend you buy these elsewhere.

Not complaining about speaker size but I just got it and it does not fit between two wall studs that are 16" on center. I guess I just assumed they would make these to fit walls that are in every house. Luckily I'm not even at the drywall yet so I can move the stud wider. But just food for though if your thinking of fishing wires or replacing an old speaker etc. Will update when I try it out but it looks heavy duty and not cheap and flimsy. So I'm happy.
