Talk about HYPE! I ordered this thinking that if my JBL Flip 2 sounded great at $80 or less, this surely would be incredible at $150 plus! Placed them side by side and gave them a good hour to convince me. The Fugoo is fine. Nothing crappy about the product. But when you read the hype I read, you expect some pretty amazing sound. As an audiophile, the sound of the Fugoo seemed far less pleasing to me than the sound of a $80 Flip 2 ($60 in TJMaxx here lately.) And for those who will state I need to install the firmware update? I did. As soon as I paired mine and it crackled a bit. The firmware fixed the crackling, and I got the cool Australian lady's voice, instead of the dude. But in the end, I packaged that Fugoo up and it went back out to Amazon today. I just don't get how reviewers could set this so far above the other options. Battery life is reviewed as pretty incredible. However, the Fugoo Style should have been pulled from placement the moment price became a factor. No chance this thing is worth what it is priced at. Really disappointed...
I bought this in May 2016, and it stopped connecting over bluetooth to my phone a few months ago, around Jan 2018. It started off by being iffy with connection. Earlier if it was in range it automatically connected. Then I had to turn it off and turn it on to connect. Finally it stoped connecting altogether. The little button on the phone that says it is connecting to the speaker disappeared, even though in Settings it said it is connected.
I tried unpairing and re-pairing the device to my phone. It still didn't work. The phone's sound would disappear, that little button said it's playing on speaker (on the youtube app) would disappear, but in settings the bluetooth said it was connected.
I wouldn't buy it if this is how long it lasts. I keep it plugged in always, don't use it often as a portable speaker much.
Personally I was looking for good rich quality sound less the hollowness you tend to get with options at this size level. I had a JBL Charge for 3 years that died because the port for the mini USB charger broke. I was happy but was not that rich at the higher levels....I purchased this due to reviews from a few audiophiles I read online specifically cuz it was good quality (has individually 2 tweet /2mid/ and 2 Bass on sides)
I was more than pleased......great rich sound for a small unit......battery was great as well......only downside is that this does not get LOUD and is not made for loudness....it's made for small rooms / areas or connected to iPad to watch videos....
I bought the sport case/ sleeve as well and take to beach...if you appreciate rich quality sound for small size unit at reasonable price ..the amateur audiophile would approve
Wishing I just paid for the Jambox. This mini speaker has decent sound, but it doesn't last very long according to my use...It gives no warning and just shuts off - feels like about 8-10 hours max. It connects to bluetooth "OK" but you have to manually reconnect EVERY time instead of it picking up the same bluetooth signal from my phone or mac whichever was last in use. With the Jambox, when I turned it on, it found the last source and just connected. Definitely not worth the money - I'm disappointed but will suck it up and jump back to the jambox when I feel like spending the money. I would just throw this in a beach bag or something down the road.
I purchased this to connect to my phone or Echo dot for better sound, and it does not dissapoint. The sound is clear and full for a speaker this size, and it gets plenty loud. I can connect it to my dot and take it anywhere in the house to keep the sound with me. It doesn't go far outside, but not much does through my metal siding. If the source us also outside, it goes pleny far for my yard.
Although I can't confirm the battery life as I use it over many days for different durations, it blows my previous speakers away. I won't go out of my way to test it's durability (many videos available for that), it does feel solid, and I feel confident in bringing it anywhere knowing that it would survive a drop or a dunk.
The icing on the cake was I found out this was originally a $200 speaker from other reviews, and now it's only $90 at my time of purchase. A great deal as I think it sounds just as good as the ones in the store closer to the original price.
Just got home from a 3 day trip and used this little speaker every day. We rented a 2 bdrm house and the speaker filled the main room (kitchen/living/dining room) at about half volume. Surprisingly loud and enjoyable sound. I have invested a small fortune in my home stereo setup so I'm not going to pretend the sound quality of compressed MP3's streaming to a bluetooth speaker is excellent, but it's good. It sounds better and much louder than my old Bravern 600. For me having music available is super important and the ease in which it connects to my phone (iphone 7) with the touch of a button is bonus. Nice to have the audio in 1/8 as an option too.
The "tough" case came with my purchase as well as the gray soft case and I have to say the tough case is pretty hard core. You could take it almost anywhere and throw it against brick walls in case you get bored. It would be fine and continuing playing music as if nothing happened.
One star docked because it is a little bass heavy and some speakers have an app that can be downloaded to further tweak sound, this one does not. But that is being very picky.
If it were in the same price range as the oontz angle and the anker soundcore then I'd give it 5 stars. However for the price of 3 ankers and oontz, you get a unit that only BARELY beats the anker. For $30 the SoundCore is louder and sounds nearly as good. The difference isn't worth the extra $60. I was working outside and turned the fugoo up to its highest level and could barely hear it around the corner of my house. It's limited db level is most likely the reason it can last 40 hours. The sound quality of the oontz was excellent however it lacked the bass that the fugoo and anker have.
If you want the one with the best sound then the fugoo wins, but I can't stress enough how it BARELY wins. If it were louder and had more bass then I'd have kept it, but since it didn't I kept the anker.
My wife loves this speaker, she recons it is better than mine but that argument will go on for a long time. Holds its charge well and is a good sound. not waterproof (like mine) and could do with a bit more bass (like mine). but overall very good speaker.
excellent sound. very very good value
Great sound ,easy to use ,
I had a REALLY HARD time trying to find a good speaker that Charges things.....has great sound...has great base, and battery life. I read a crap load of reviews and they all claim to be the best etc. I had decided on one brand and was going to purchase it and then I came across one reviewer that said the sound was actually quite "tinny" so I went back to searching for another product.
Read quite a few reviews on this model/product and overall it had received good reviews....so decided to plunge and try this one.
Sound....Great!! lots of base in it too (at least I think so.) Also the volume is actually quite high (which I had read on a few that the volume didn't go high enough------this one does!!!)
at one point I had to run to the basement while doing reno work on the second floor..... I could still hear it and the Bluetooth didn't cut out!!!!!!
I am very happy with this product!! :)
Also as a side note....I live in Canada and the market place that sent the product was from the states....of course CANADA CUSTOMS (Who suckssssssssssssssssssssss asssssssssssssssssssssssss ....of course slapped on a customs charge - market place refunded me Canada customs BOGUS charge!)
Thank you AMAZON and FUGOO!!!! very pleased
Good speaker, but for a price of around 12 to 14K, better go for Sony SRSXB40 which is a much better sounding speaker. At high volume speaker starts distorting.
It does sound good. I wish it could combine in stereo. I wish they had a version that works with wifi. However, the price was right.
Terrific sound...but almost returned it. The package had been opened before and there was a slight dent in the product itself. When I buy something new, I expect it will actually be new and not in a taped-up package. I
Compared to its direct competition, better immersive sound, good features, great ergonomics, excellent battey life.
Love it! Now we have music where we want it. The base tones could be bigger but for the size of the speaker it works well and it keeps us from bothering the neighbours.
Really happy. Not the loudest like others have reviewed but for the size what do you expect. Amazing battery
the battery last very long, but the sound quality is poor especially in low frequency
This speaker gives excellent sound for the price. More bass would be nice. The battery seems to be performing as stated in the specs.
Jesus loves you. a.
