The unit is compact, built like a tank and is easy to install. Sound quality is good. I put it behind the rear seat in my F250 crew. I'm adding a star simply for that versatility. You can put it just about anywhere. It added a lot of warmth with good separation between tones and blends nicely with the stock system. It sounds great at lower volumes. Works as intended.
edit: Just a couple caveats - The unit is not like a normal sub. You will not get the same volume as a traditional subwoofer. In fact, it's no where close. I'm guessing this unit bottoms out around 40hz or so. It won't hit the lowest of lows with much authority. The volume disappears. If you want something boomy, this isn't it. It does what I need it to do and does it well, which is to fill where the stock system is lacking. Just want people to know what they are getting.
Edit 2: After installing a lc2i loc in my son's truck with great results, I thought I'd try one on the vpas12 sub. I did not expect how much better this sub would sound with their accubass. SQ went up a hundred fold. The sub no longer sounds peakish at certain frequencies and it digs deep. It isn't the loudest sub..not by a long shot... but it sounds awesome!

This is not the Cerwin Vega of old who made solid products that sounded great. These are absolute junk. Even with everything turned down with no gain the subwoofer blew in less than 2 months of installing it. Cerwin Vega won’t stand behind their product at all even though it appears a lot of these are blowing within a couple months of ownership. I even bought through Amazon and paid a higher price to supposedly get better warranty support but nothing. You can guarantee I’ll never buy another Cerwin Vega product.

I purchased this product in December of 2018. The product lasted about three months and the amplifier would not turn on anymore. It was out of its three month warranty, so I was not able to return it. I purchased the identical product from amazon in September of 2019. After a month and half, the product would turn on but would just make a popping sound. When both of instances happened, I verified voltage to amplifier, I applied voltage from a different battery, I applied alternate sound source and everything did not work. I tried several times to contact Cerwin Vega for customer service and there was never a reply. I finally contacted Amazon and they gave me a full refund for the product. If you search this subwoofer online, there is numerous problems with the unit. I am not sure what happened, Cerwin Vega use to stand for quality but not anymore. Don't add stress to your life and purchase this product. My advice to you is not to buy this product.

Installed this in my 2006 Dodge ram 1500 four-door SLT under drivers seat. 12” so It is slightly bigger. The only spot that would work was under the driver seat. At the same time I upgraded my sound system with four infinity speakers ([email protected] 3way and 2 5 1/2 2way and the pioneer AVH-W4400NEX double din receiver. I’ve only had it all for a few days but I am impressed. I haven’t gone all the way up and I don’t think I need to. The base doesn’t rumble your chest cavity but definitely very basey. Vibrates the mirrors and my Seat. You will definitely get looks from other drivers or pedestrians at the crosswalk. This thing could get you in trouble on the road. It’s freaking awesome!! I drove across the Skyway bridge between St. Petersburg and Sarasota With all the windows down 70 miles an hour radio up. I couldn’t hear any driving noises just my music. Get it !

I have a 2016 f150 supercrew. The bass was lacking. I tried a Rockford fosgate p300 10" first but it wouldn't fit. Then I came across this and decided to give it a shot. I cannot begin to explain how impressed I am. It puts out way more thump than I imagined. The only down side is that the frequency filter doesn't go quite as low as I'd like. Otherwise great sub.

If you want to shake mirrors look elsewhere. If you want to add bass to an existing system then seriously consider this. I put it under the passenger's seat of a 2011 Corolla with an upgraded radio and upgraded stock sized speakers. Exceeded expectations and nicely filled in the lows. It's a tight fit but the seat has full range of movement. Weird Note: The main speaker is 10 inches not 12, BUT there is a 2 X 8 inch band pass on the under side, in this case 10 + 2 = VPAS12 :-)

This sub is awesome! I'm not much for reviews, but this item is worth reviewing. I have it mounted underneath the driver's seat of my SUV and it really brings the music to life.
I enjoy it so much that I am thinking about adding a second sub just to give my passengers the same experience.

I purchased this item as a gift for my dad back in April 2020, not even 6 months into using this item it stopped working. I contacted the buyer and they referred me to Cerwin Vega for warranty, however Cerwin Vega immediately notified me that this item is not covered under a manufacture warranty being that this was purchased through a third party. I wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing this item.
