The Aiyima Tube Amplifier is a relatively small unit that puts out a good amount of power and nice sound. I am not an audiophile but I played some classical cello pieces as well as rock, pop, and alt to test it and the tone and overall sound was quite good. I find the sound quality better than those small portable Bluetooth speakers probably because I am using a perfectly good set of Pioneer 80W bookshelf speakers by Andrew Jones that I had on hand. This was my relatively cost effective way of getting "wireless" Bluetooth speakers. Please note it isn't wireless since the amplifier is hooked up to a power source and their is traditional copper wire between the amplifier and the speaker. The amplifier puts out 100W so plenty of power for normal listening so I just leave the volume knob about halfway and adjust the volume from my iPhone volume buttons. After you turn flip the switch to turn on the power, allow it to warm up a bit, and flip up to Bluetooth, the pairing process is fairly easy. I was able to walk away to the other side of the house on the same floor and still remain connected and in control. One drawback is that if you pair the tube amplifier to more than one mobile device, then the last person to connect has to temporarily shut off their Bluetooth while you connect via Bluetooth or you will be blocked. It played audio from my Pandora music subscription well. youTube video other streaming services like Disney and Netflix played on my iPhone while audio was on bookshelf speakers. You can also hook up a line via auxiliary input, but I haven't tried that yet. I checked the replacement vacuum tubes which appear standard and are reasonably priced though I haven't had to replace yet.
Far from a "golden ear", I'm hard of hearing, I do love the experience of being in a soundstage and the near magic of the trick, but no "audiophile", me. I got this cause I wanted aux and bt, something small, power, bass/treble knobs, and for it to look good. It really does look good, and it's driving two 4ohm 4" speakers with 83.8 impedence.
The bt works from the back of my house all the way into the garage (maybe 40 linear feet/12 meters with lots of walls?), I can't get far enough away to lose connection.
That's about it, as you can see in the main product pictures it takes one line in, the ant connect is for its bt antenna, output to two speakers in stereo, direct connect speaker wire or banana plug, and the sockets are nice and solid.
You can get basically the same thing for nearer to 30 USD without the tubes, probably the smarter buy honestly.
I have this amp paired with some Micca RB42 speakers and a Bluetooth 5.0 dongle on my PC and it's a sweet experience indeed. The music sounds very smooth and sweet. It's a heavy little amp for it's size and the tubes give off a nice warm blue with a small orange glow in the center of the bulb. Id say my experience with it so far - with the good (great) speakers - is incredible. Audiophile quality. Nice soundstage and great range. Bass is deep and accurate. Highs are sweet and beautiful. I have no complaints.
This amp didn’t drive my 100w speakers as I thought they would. I had the volume up at 75% for “normal” listening. The holes for using bare wire are on the small side so I’d recommend banana plugs for heavier gauge speaker wire. Also the “right” and “left” were labeled backwards which did not inspire confidence.
I hooked this up to two medium sized floor standing tower speakers rated at 180-440 watts. I wasn’t sure if this little guy would have the power to push them . It does and then some. Just make sure that you have the volume on your source turned way up or it might not seem very loud. The sound quality is great, very pleasant using high res FLAC files from my Pioneer DAC . Bluetooth connection has worked flawlessly during testing. Couldn’t be more pleased for the price. Recommend.
What a surprise top hook this very affordable unit up to two Klipsch speakers. Beautiful rich bass. I have tested systems with a much bigger price tag they cannot delivery the clean range this little unit puts out. Perfect for the beginner audiophile.
I am using this to drive a stereo pair of speakers for a home theater. This amp does not introduce noise or artifacts, maintains an excellent Bluetooth connection with my iPhone, and makes my Polk bookshelf speakers sound great. As an added bonus, the vacuum tubes and blue lighting on the top of the amp are a really aesthetically pleasing touch. I’m glad I bought it.
There was heart beating type of noise out from the speaker. I thought the source was the speaker and tested speakers with 2 other amps I owned and speaker was fine. I have looked up internet to locate the problem, and there wasn't any. The replacement I have received also had same problem. I end up returning them both.
