Instant, Plug-and-Play Proof of Vinyl's Superior Sound and Fun: Music Hall MMF-1.5 Turntable Features Advanced Tonearm, Pre-Mounted Cartridge, Built-In Phono Preamp, Cherry Veneer, More The Music Hall MMF-1.5 belt-drive turntable is created for music lovers that want instant proof of vinyl's superiority and fun in comparison to hearing tunes on streaming services or from media hosts. Designed to be used with absolute ease by even those with no prior turntable experience, MMF-1.5 features a pre-mounted Music Hall Melody cartridge, built-in phono preamplifier, and vibration-damping platter mat. Nearly everything is already done for you. After some minor assembly, simply connect MMF-1.5 to an amplifier and pair of speakers, place an LP on the ‘table, sit back, and absorb the involving detail, warmth, and dynamics for which analog has been renowned for decades. As evidenced by the gorgeous cheery-wood veneer, Music Hall also took measures to ensure MMF-1.5 looks and performs extremely better than any of the cheap ‘tables offered by record stores and retailers eager to take advantage of the vinyl boom. In addition to the aforementioned qualities and Music Hall's decades of build experience, MMF-1.5 includes a Technics-style S-type aluminum tonearm with removable headshell. It ensures excellent tracking ability and boasts rigid construction. An electronic speed-controlled motor lends needed stability and accuracy, while a thick aluminum player and vibration-damping feet give you the solid foundation and stability demanded by any entry-level high-end rig. This is a serious ‘table, not a toy. Music Hall even throws in a dust cover for protection. If you're thinking about taking the analog plunge or gifting the hobby to someone you love, and want to stick to a budget without skimping on performance, MMF-1.5 hits those marks and more. It's plug-and-play

Excellent tt it was between this and the Uturn. So glad I went with this. The cue lever option on the U turn orbit looks cheap. Everything on this turntable is very good quality. One of the things I like is the ability to tweak the platter speed with a dial on the back even though I haven't had to use it. The speed was a perfect 33.3 right out of the box . I don't recommend the built in preamp. It's fine to get you started but an external preamp like the DJ Pre II can be had very cheap and will make a huge difference. Cartridge replacement is super easy so upgrading the cartridge down the road will keep anyone happy without feeling the need to upgrade to a better turntable. This has to be the best tt under $500 on the market.

I upgraded from a Numark TT-100 table and wanted a table with an s-shaped tone arm for easy cartridge and headshell swaps. I was torn between this and the Teac TN-400s, but the Music Hall had much better wow and flutter, and signal to noise ratio specs. The pictures don't do this justice, it's a beautiful looking table. I can't comment on the built in phono pre-amp or the Music Hall Melody cartridge (using a Grado Black), but I was extremely happy with the clarity of sound compared to the TT-100 (especially at higher volume). As stock, the table measured at 33.2 rpms and there is a adjustable speed control on the back to true this up. In my opinion, this is a fine turntable for the money.

This turntable is quiet and does the job or spinning a vinyl record and reproducing what is picked up by the cartridge at phono level or line level to an amplifier. It looks decent and feet absorb most of the floor thuds.
Here are the things you need to pay attention to and spend money fixing:
Setting the tracking force requires a bit of work. The accompanying manual suggests use of the counterweight on the T mark - this results in way too much force. When you do it manually, you will find the counterweight ends up further back from the T mark. Ideally, you should check the tracking force with a track force meter (Price range $11-130)
The included conical stylus is very basic and you will need to change it for an elliptical stylus at a minimum. If not a better cartridge. (Price range $40 - several hundreds)
The factory setting on the cartridge is supposed to provide good alignment but if you notice inner track distortion - better cartridge alignment with a protractor will be necessary ($15-30)
There is a speed adjustment knob. because the speed of the platter may not be accurate. To make accurate speed adjustment, you will need a disc mat stroboscope or a strobe light (Price range 15-130)
The Music Hall MMF 1.5 is a good starter turntable to start spending on a hobby. And when you are hooked, it will make you turn your sights to the more expensive pieces out there, some in excess of 30K!
PS: The turntable speed is definitely off out of the box (34.5 RPM when I checked - crosschecked with multiple smartphone apps). For approximate speed correction, a smartphone app will do but for more accurate correction, use a stroboscope mat or disc with a lamp using an incandescent or halogen bulb.

It took three tries but I was successful buying this turntable Music Hall MMF-1.5. I tried twice before with a different vendor from a major electronics business. They just did not work and I had to return them and gave up the idea to get a turntable. I read an article in the San Jose Mercury newspaper in San Jose, CA. And it had to do with turntables that are very good and reasonable. The article was in the business section of the paper and the columnist Don Lindich made this turntable his number one selection. And he was right and I love it.

Very happy with this turntable. Sounds great and is well built. I didn't care for the conical stylus, so I upgraded it to an elliptical by LP Gear. Fab sound!

Super simple setup had me enjoying my vast record collection from my teen years in minutes. Great quality and looks good too!

Superb quality for the price!!! I did upgrade the cartridge to an Ortofon Blue. I replaced a new Denon 400 (twice the price) with this one! 10 times the quality than the Denon!! Plus it has that old-time look to it and you can adjust the speed!!!

This turntable looks great and sounds great. It is easy to set up. From what I know, it is best in class of turntables in its price range.

This product was sent without hinges for the dust cover so it cannot be assembled and headshell and cartridge are missing too. It’s pretty but now I have to go seeking out missing product that should have been sent with the package.
