Great product. At the time of this review the Z8 has only been released for 1 month so there are some flaws that are being worked on for a future firmware release. This thing is fast and has worked like a charm for me thus far.

I received the Z8 and it was easy to set up. All physical equipment was present, but neither of the remote controls worked. I had to use a dongle keyboard to navigate and found out that the catch-up didn't work for my IPTV. The IPTV service I subscribed to worked perfectly on my Shield including the catch-up. I contacted the developer of the product and they stated that I should return the product to the reseller for a new one. I continued to examine the use of the Z8. First looking at picture quality and it wasn't as sharp. I reviewed the Playstore and noticed that Netflix wasn't available and I would have to sideload a copy of Netflix, but it wouldn't have all the bells and whistles as the official Android Box version. I bought the Z8 to get a better IPTV experience and found that, as MyTVOnline had many features that was missing with other apps, it wasn't worth the expense since I already had a Nvidia Shield.

Best Android box by far. Better than the Amazon fire stick. Don't get me wrong the fire stick is great. But this takes it to another level. Being able to record with a USB 3.0 flash drive. The Mytvonline2 app where you can add an IPTV service is fantastic. If your gamer The shield is probably better. but I'm not a gamer that's why I bought this.

I just received my Formula Z8 and compared to all the android boxes I owned in the past this one is by far the best. Watching IPTV hasn't been easier. The TV guide, smoothness and snappiness of the box is incredible. Well worth the money.

The Formuler z8 is a great choice for an Android device being used in conjunction with an IPTV streaming service. Many great features including the excellent MY TV Online 2 EPG, internal storage, and the USB 3 port for recording. Started using an IPTV service using our existing Firestick, but the Formuler z8 just adds so much more functionality with the MTOL and other features. I am a novice and not an expert on this topic, but using this device for several months I’ve learned to use m3u and APK urls and get the most out of the device. Highly recommend!

The equipment is good but the description that the contents include a luminous remote is false. There are two remotes but neither are luminous.

Missing the extra remote and the extra charger cord as advertised. Unit works, but the advertised extras were not in box. It was a diff looking box as well.

Le service est impeccable. Le Z8 est arrivé bien emballé.
Le Z8 est très solide. Les deux antennes Wifi donnent une grande stabilité à la connexion, tout ça combiné à un abonnement IPTV de haute vitesse est fantastique. Le décodage en 4k donne des images époustouflante, même les objets les plus minuscules sont visibles de façon naturelle. Je suis très satisfait de ce décodeur.
Avec le logiciel MyTvOnline 2, c'est comme un abonnement câble à moindre coût. Tu peux enregistrer en direct, programmer des événements.
Le seul point négatif, tu ne peux pas enregistrer une émission et regarder une autre chaîne en même temps. Je suis certain que les sud coréens trouveront une solution d'ici là.
Quel bonheur de suivre les maths de foot en direct. Je ne rate plus aucun classico, de même que les tournois de tennis.
Avec mon disque externe de 2To, je serai en mesure de programmer les match lorsque je serai au travail.

I already have a Nvidia Shield and a Dream link T2..Now that I bought the Formuler Z8 it blows them both out of the water. I never thought anything would beat my Nvidia Shield but the Z8 does in every way except for gaming. I think Nvidia has better games and options related to games. The Formuler Z8 however provides a much better IPTV experience with a super sharp picture! I also LOVE the full size "regular" remote compared to Nvidia's.

Ultimately you are paying for the proprietary IPTV software that comes with this box. The Formuler z8 streams netflix poorly (poor picture quality), streams amazon video poorly (poor picture quality), streams sling tv poorly (poor picture and stream quality). It does however stream YouTube very nicely at proper resolutions. So you have to ultimately ask yourself if it is worth shelling out a couple hundred bucks for essentially what is a specialized IPTV box. The IPTV app TiViMate works beautifully on the Nvidia Shield (which is just a little bit more expensive than the Formuler z8).. but as of writing this review it lacks channel / program search (which the Formuler z8 can do no problem).

So.. is shelling a couple hundred bucks for a proprietary IPTV app that both looks and performs great, and can do very fast channel / program searches worth it to you? I leave it to you to decide...

I wanted to pay a premium to upgrade my current IPTV device in hopes to benefit from a better user experience. The device itself looks slick, so does the MYTV Online 2 application. Except I have a major bug that makes this device completely useless.

Whenever I press the DOWN arrow on the IR remote, the screen goes completely black. After trial and error, I discovered I needed to unplug the HDMI cable and reconnect it for the screen to come back. What an awful experience. Imagine watching TV and only be able to switch channels upwards. Or never being able to scroll DOWN any drop-down menu without having to go through the dreadful cycle of disconnecting and reconnecting the HDMI cable.

I went on dreamlink's web site but couldn't find any technical support. Tried all of the following, with no luck:
- Tries rebooting the device
- Updated to the latest firmware version
- Device came with 2 remotes: a Dreamlink and a Formuler one. Same problem with both
- Tried on a different TV
- Tried fiddling with the device settings

I wouldn't recommend this device to anyone

UPDATE:(2019-11-12) The web address printed under the device does not provide any support. I searched Google and found another site where I was able to open a support ticket. That proved to be completely useless as well, as their only response was to redirect me to the seller (Amazon) for support. Bottom line: bad device, no support.

UPDATE:(2019-11-16) I found the problem with the IR remote, which as it turns out, had nothing to do with the device itself. In fact, the problem came from an incompatible HDMI switch which reacted to the remote control's DOWN key IR signal by turning off its output signal. Consequently, I have revised my star rating up to 4. I leave 1 star out, not for the device itself but for the technical support which, I wish, could be more supportive.
