Stable internet on nintendo switch. I ran over 100 tests wlon wireless, 5g wireless and this wired connection on nintendo switch. My baseline connection on wired pc and phone on 5g was Regular 60-65mbps down and 6mbps up. Nintendo switch results. wireless was between 8 and 11mbps down and 3 up. 5g was 28 to 42mbps dowb and 4.5 and 5.1 up. Wired with this unit was 37 to 40 down and 5.0 to 5.2 up. Bottom line it made the connection more consistent and faster up than 5g. My wireless router is about 5feet from the switch with direct line of sight. |
Wed 2/07/2018 4:46 pm. Asus Vivobook F510UA FHD 2016 Windows 10 laptop. With ugreen adapter, fails a ping test to a known network computer. With old adapter, works. |
I have a first generation Nintendo Wii that I have not used in years. Back when I purchased it in 2006 I used a wireless USB D-Link Adapter that seemed to work just fine. For whatever reason that wireless adapter does not work anymore. I've been meaning to download a game or two from the Wii Virtual Console Shop but I couldn't get online. I looked on amazon and found this USB adapter. As soon as I got it I plugged it in and bam! I was updating the Wii software and downloading Yoshi's Story for the N64. Sweet. |
I use this with my Nintendo Switch. My switch sometimes struggles with my house wifi and this adapter worked perfectly to give it a lan connections. |
It works. |
Product arrived on time. |
My 32 inch TCL Roku TV 32S3700 decided to stop connecting to wifi no matter what I did. I bought this, hit the reset button on the back of the tv, plugged this in the USB port, and after about 15 seconds it connected via the ethernet cable. So happy this little, inexpensive, gem did the trick! |
Ich hab den Adapter für meine Switch gekauft. Was soll ich groß schreiben. |
Great purchase. As a uni student, I bought a wireless printer for my room. Only to find that it won't allow connection to an enterprise network (which the uni wifi runs on). This meant I had to connect with the printer directly with my Macbook computer on a private wifi signal, rendering my Macbook useless as I can't be connected to two wifi hotspots at once (if I was connected to the printer I can't access the internet, if I connected to the uni wifi I can't print from my computer), it made it impossible to print online sources. However, if I could connect my computer using ethernet, all problems would be solved. Until I realised Apple weren't kind enough to put ethernet ports on their Macbooks... |
Got this for my Nintendo Switch and my MacBook pro, both of which sadly do not have an ethernet cable port. |
I am having what appears to be a common problem with the new Switch - it refuses to see any wireless networks no matter what I do with it. Particularly given that any fix is likely to be delivered via the internet, I decided to give up trying and get a USB/Lan adapter, and opted for this one. |
Yes it was great when I first got it but after the most recent Windows 10 update my download speed has dropped from 13 to 2. I had BT check and it was my side of the router hub. Then I discovered that it was only the Windows 10 machine not any of the other earlier versions of Windows on several other machines that was affected. The strange thing is that it did not affect my upload speed. On checking descriptions for this device I discoger a discrepancy regarding whether it should be USB two or three specification for the port. Perhaps it's not as compatible as it first appers. |
Bought it for a laptop that was struggling for a Wi-Fi signal, and it works perfect. Like many laptops, mine didn't have an Ethernet port, so this was a no-brainer. It comes with a disk and instructions, but I just plugged it in, connected the Ethernet cable, and everything worked perfectly straight off. |
I sometimes wonder if device manufacturers have ever actually seen a modern laptop? There's always something in networked wireless devices that goes "in case of problems, plug this into your computer's ethernet socket", but it's many years since I bought anything with an ethernet socket. Anyway, this little feller very nicely bridges the gap between the last century and this one. You might only need it rarely, but it's a lifesaver when you do. |
My Acer Swift laptop has no ethernet port, and it's not always great at wireless connectivity. This little adapter worked straight out of the box without requiring any driver installation (on Windows 10) from the supplied mini-CD, which is handy as the Swift doesn't have a CD drive either. |
Works well with 2nd generation fire stick enables an ethernet connection rather than wifi would highly recommend easy to do but you also need a otg cable adapter which goes into fire stick power output then use power output from cable then USB ethernet plug in ethernet lead into adapter job done |
This product starts off really well. Easy to install for my purposes, seems solidly well made. But after approximately 2-3 months, the product seemed to enter a sort of disabled mode periodically, where no traffic would go through it, and the link light flashed once per second. Only disconnecting from USB to reset it would fix the issue. I do not believe it is based on a poor connection as in my case, nothing even moved during that time period. I think there must be a component with a very limited lifespan inside the unit. Anyway, it's worthless now so I've had to purchase a different item; I can't see any way to get my money back here so my advice is to save yours and perhaps look at the Plugable series instead. |
I purchased this network adapter to work with an Asus Chromebit that was having trouble connecting to the wireless network in our home. Not having used an USB Ethernet adapter before I was worried that it might be a pain to get working with the Chromebit, but purchased it because it mentioned Chromebooks in the product title and had lots of good reviews. |
I didn't hold out much hope for this, I had tried things like this before and they never seemed to quite work. I received the box with a disc in it, that was the first issue with installation, I needed this for something that doesn't have a disc drive, so I had to find one that I could plug in (the UGreen website has a list of downloadable drives but it is not well designed and quite confusing). Once I had done that I found the disc wouldn't work, telling me that I was using the wrong OS file (I wasn't), but I kept clicking and finally it said OK I'll install now. |
An upgrade to a newer machine bought many plusses and a few surprises. No ethernet port was one of them. I prefer being hardwired to the network when at home so I bought this and an Anker mini usb hub. Plugged them in and hey presto. fully functioning fast ethernet once more. Just what was needed. Product feels durable and well made and so far has been flawless. We move a LOT of data over the network and so far no glitches. |
