The HyperX Cloud II was built to be an ultra-comfortable gaming headset with great sound. We put a lot of thought into the details of our HyperX signature memory foam, the premium leatherette, clamping force, and weight distribution. It’s no wonder that it’s become the preferred headset for millions of gamers. We're proud to present the HyperX Cloud II Wireless. With a fast 2.4Ghz wireless connection, a long-lasting 30-hour* battery, and up to 20 meters of wireless range***, you're set for more than a full day of comfort and wireless freedom. 53mm drivers deliver impressive sound, with 7.1** virtual surround sound for improved positional audio available at the touch of a button. It's compatible with PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, so you can take the good times across platforms.
*Tested at 50% headphone volume. Battery life varies depending upon the usage.
**Virtual 7.1 surround sound effect output as a 2 channel stereo signal to be used with stereo headphones.
***Wireless range may vary due to environmental conditions.
Pros: The sounds felt balanced across the board, I have yet to use it on my PC laptop as it's stuck in Shanghai China and I'm stuck here in the US. On my PS4 it sounds crazy crisp, I can hear EVERYTHING! I can even hear the sounds coming from my brother's head phones (he lives in ND and I'm currently in NV) picked up from his mic when we play COD. On my Mac, movies sound great. It's like being in a theater without the annoying candy wrapper crinkle sounds of neighbors or sticky floors. The clamping force is a tad heavy as I kind of have a chunky head. Though I'd rather have a tad tight than a tad too loose as with my Turtle Beach head phones, those things have phenomenal range but fall off anytime I look down. I like the Hyperx Cloud II ear cups, leather feel rather than fabric. I shave my head bald and nothing is more gross than fabric that has been saturated with sweat and head greases.
DO NOT MESS AROUND BUY IT
I bought this headset directly from HyperX/Kingston before it was available on Amazon and I've had it for a little while now and I feel confident recommending it. The only thing it's missing to me is the ability to use it wired. Also, unlike the Steelseries Arctis 7 I owned before this, the volume dial is digital, controlling the volume in windows, this solves the problem of the analog volume dial on the Arctis having left/right channel imbalance whenever the volume isn't maxed so that's a major plus for me.
The OG cloud II (wired) headset has been my favorite and most reliable headset for all FPS and AAA games for the past 5 years and ngl, keeping everything else the same and adding wireless is exactly what I was looking for and I bet the same what other ppl are looking for too.
