This product is excellent, it replicates Switch gamepad inputs with extreme accuracy and basically no latency. Don't buy it.

That might sound weird, but hear me out.

If you want to play with an Xbox one controller on Switch, get Brook's other product called the X One adapter. Its a battery pack adapter that attaches to your controller and pretty much stays there. It works wirelessly and with a wired connection. It works with PS4 and PC as well. It has rumble. It adds motion control features, for gyroscoping aiming which you can find in almost all switch shooter games (which, if you haven't used it, is actually great and you'll never want to go back to regular thumbstick aiming) and other motion controls. If you also use the controller on pc, the gyroscopic controls should work with steam's API as well. it charges, it has a battery, it's discreet, it does everything this does and more, wirelessly. I haven't bought it and tried it yet, but since it's Brook, I'm assuming it will be the same quality as this gameplay-wise.

Let's say you need to use an arcade stick. My personal recommendation: don't get an xbox one arcade stick. Get one for PS4 and buy a Brook PS4 to switch adapter. If you play fighting games, you will want a PS4 stick generally if you go to locals.

If you already have an xbox fight stick, or you need to use another kind of specific xbox controller on switch, like a flying joystick or race wheel, then get this. Or, if you want to use the xbox one elite controller specifically series 2, or the xbox series x controller, since both of those use USB-C and are thus incompatible with the X One adapter, you'll need this. It's going to be very situational. In all other cases, I'd recommend the X One adapter. I can't wait to get my hands on one of those and try it. As for this thing, my return period is up, but I'll keep it to use with my xbox fight stick.

UPDATE:
I've contacted Brook and they informed me that after the Switch update, you must go to System Setting → Controllers and Sensors, and turn on Pro Controller Wired Communication. Doing that made it work as soon as I plugged it in.

Simply does not work! Causes a 2011-0301 error on the Switch and forces it to power down.

I bought the Gam3Gear Brook Xbox One to PS4 converter and it worked phenomenally for me, so as soon as I bought a Switch, I bought this adapter. I plugged into the Switch dock and followed the included instructions to connect my Xbox One controller. It would not see the controller, no matter how many times I tried or what order I followed the steps in.

I went to Brook's website and saw there was a firmware update (v1.0.5 from May 2018). Having successfully updated my Xbox -> PS4 adapter using an identical method, I figured this would make the adapter work. Instead, it made it worse. Now my Switch dies as soon as I plug in the adapter. It displays a 2011-0301 error and shuts down. I have tried reflashing the firmware several times and have redownloaded the installer multiple times. It always kills my Switch.

I'll keep my eye on future firmware updates and update this review if it fixes my issue, but for now I would advise you avoid this converter.

works great as the other I bought however on the Switch is a little different so it has more steps, once you go through a few steps you'll be set and ready to rock

Second converter purchased from Gam3gear. Works awesome. No update/patch needed. Make sure to check "wired controller" in the Switch settings or an error message will show up once converter is connected.

Only reason I gave 4 stars is you have to update firmware no biggie some people not as tech savvy so it will take them alittle longer to figure out but works as intended

Make sure you download and update to the latest firmware. On the switch turn on Pro Controller Wired Communication and it will work.

Works great with my xbox fight stick. Shipped fast with no issues.

If you're looking to buy this for an Xbox One or Xbox 360 controller, then yeah, it works great. However, the compatibility list on the manufacturer's website may not be accurate. I was never able to make my controller work, even though it was listed as compatible. Tech support from Brook told me that my controller was untested, which was frustrating.

Make sure you do some research before purchasing if you have a third party controller. Otherwise, it's a good product. Oh, and mine didn't actually come with a keychain, but I didn't really care about it in the first place.
