I also almost didn't buy because of the first comment but I am so glad that I did. I love my new xbox! I am so stoked to have a special edition. Everything works perfect.

Just writing this because I saw the first review and almost didn't buy. My system arrived factory sealed and is fully functional. If your experience is anything like mine you will be pleased.

Great console, games look fantastic and it’s cheaper than buying a stand-alone Xbox. 5 stars!!

I too almost canceled my order after reading the first review. However, I did indeed receive a new in box Battlefield V Edition Xbox one X. Exactly as described.

I had an original Xbox one, after kinect was forced on consumers and before they had hardware revisions with the Xbox one S and Xbox one X.

I kind of hated the Xbox one because developers didn't support it very much, Microsoft gave away it's exclusives (even further devaluing the reason to get an Xbox one), and the operating system was cumbersome and sluggish. While the first two reasons sucked, I figured perhaps I could fix the slow software problem by upgrading to an Xbox one x

However after upgrading to an Xbox one x, which has 4gbs more ram and improved processing speed among other hardware upgrades, I came to see that the Xbox one is fundamentally flawed on a system level.

Games do play better on the Xbox one x, but $500 is a steep price for a system that's about to become obsolete in 2 years (and the new system will be backwards compatible, thus playing Xbox one games).

$500 is expensive just to get them to play as they should out of box (minimal performance issues) on a console that doesn't have many exclusives games.

$500 is expensive for a console that has a slow and cumbersome User interface.

If you absolutely have to get an Xbox one of any sort, go for the cheaper Xbox one S which is the same specs as the original Xbox one, except it has an UHD (4k) Blu ray player, just like the Xbox one x, but at half the cost. It'll play worse than the Xbox one x, but it's all versions of Xbox one will become obsolete soon anyway.

Here's the verdict. If you need a console now go for the PS4 or PS4 pro. If you need a portable now go for the switch. If you need a UHD (4k) Blu ray player now go for the Xbox one S. If you need an infinite number of diverse games that run the best but not in the most user friendly setting go for pc.

Otherwise be smart and wait for the next gen consoles which are already confirmed to be backwards compatible (capable of playing games from this set of consoles).

I love the Xbox One X it's the best

Works great came protected and undamaged amazing

Well, when I received the package, as you can see in the pictures above, it looked like it had been open, and just placed another sticker next to the original one. Also the Xbox box was damaged, I might have been due to the shipping, I'm not sure, when I opened it to inspect the Xbox, it was intact, th Xbox was not damaged, scratched or broken. Connected it to the power supply, it worked very nice, the codes for the games did work as well. I have had no issue so far, everything is working normal, but they do need to stop with the sticker problem, it seemed to me that it was open before, they just placed another sticker on the side of the old one. It was a good buy for that price. I'm satisfied so far.

I bought the to replace my original Xbox one due to it becoming a bit loud and having a 4K tv, other than that I never had any issue with it. Sadly I can’t say the same for the Xbox one x. I’ve encountered numerous problems such as pass key issues (I never used this but the console demanded I enter a code). It turns off fine but won’t swtich on wirelessly with the controller, I have to physically press the power button instead. The download speed is horribly slow and it won’t auto update or auto install anything. What a load of garbage.

If you already have an Xbox one, even if it’s the original this really is not worth the upgrade. You will experience the same old problems plus new ones. Get a switch or PS4 pro instead (or stick with the original Xbox one) as I’ve never encountered issues like this with them. The Xbox one x is more like a bad pc with all the troubleshooting you will find yourself doing. Oh and about 25% of the hard drive is unavailable right out of the box, it should be described as 750GB storage and not 1TB.

Not too sure what the comment means about this being fake...
came yesterday for me had some issues first setting up so would advise anyone to use a wired connection and if it does not get past the “Its time for an update” window, hard reset and it will carry on.
The skin isn’t anything amazing but does look nice, BFV is downloadable content that only comes available to play on the official release day..

Bought this bundle for/on black Friday event, was delivered a day before initial delivery date quoted(Tuesday), bought a 4K monitor(Samsung28" with AMD freesync) from another distributor on cyber Monday- same day Xbox 1X arrived. Setup was easy, managed to play a game of PUBG so as to compare it to Xbox one gameplay....no comparison can be made, I'm enjoying playing the game again.
Still need to download BattlefieldV......it's not ever likely to be pre-loaded onto the console, as one complaint indicated!
Everything is exactly as described in the pictures associated with this console, colour scheme and extras. It is notably a solid bit of kit and weighs a lot more than the Xbox one.
I'll amend accordingly if there are any issues in future..

Tricky to give 4 or 5 stars as some of the negatives are inherent to the xbox, not this specific version.

Got this as a Black Friday deal at a very good price. Was also able to tack on some other games with it to further enhance the deal. I already had BF5 on PC so this was a repeat but no downside really for the price of the whole console.

The graduated bronze/black finish is very nice - looks subtle but different to straight black. You get a standard grey controller in the box with it and the usual assortment of controllers. While my box seals were variably open, like others, everything was present and valid within the box.

The xbox as a whole is powerful and fairly easy to use - limited storage though even with 1TB - it gets used up quickly. The default drive is also slow. I’m instead using an external Samsung 1TB SSD - which with the USB3 link is quick and responsive. The inbuilt drive is used for the less important things.

its been reliable so far and impressive graphics. Liking how easy it is to just turn on and use, especially compared to PC gaming which requires tweaks to get the best outcomes.

Network performance is variable - I don’t think the inbuilt WiFi card or Ethernet are very good quality ones - they seem very peaky and give different performances compared to other devices on the same WiFi within the same room. Even wired its variable, which points to the device itself.

Overall though an excellent version of the XBOx and the special finish is very nice.

Great deal over black Friday, got the xbox one x, noticed this had previously been opened and repackaged with new seals placed over the neatly cut old ones. Really shady. Inside everything was in excellent condition and no wear and tear, plugged in and tested all codes and everything worked just great. Have been playing since with no issues or concerns. Did not return item due to it being in great condition. In future it would be great to know this was a returned item. Buyers beware and check your seals.

As several other reviewers noted the box came with two sets of seals one of which was already cut through. Also after only 6 weeks of use the unit has failed (PSU failure) requiring return under warranty from Microsoft, upon organising the return it became apparent that the 12 months technical support on the unit had started in May 2018 whereas I didn't buy it until Jan 19. Makes me think this was a refurbished/reconditioned model in the first place. When it was working it was as advertised (and a big step up from my previous One S) all the download codes worked, just annoying I now need to be without an Xbox for some time while Microsoft Fix it as well as the hassle of packaging it up and getting it to a UPS depot.

I was suprised at how much i like the look of this Goild Rush addition, i thought the colour gradient may look tacky but it actually looks pretty cool.
I have not had the chance to try out the games yet, but the battelfield games have always been of decent quality.

Now, i have a Non 4k Tv and a 4K projector. Playing games in 4K is absolutely awesome, but i can also say that playing games that are 4k supersampled for an HD screen is also a marked improvement, also knowing that you can have this with stable frame rates thanks to the power under the hood is great

While I despise EA, I got this edition because many of my friends play BF even though they are poorly made games by money grabbing wastemen, and I knew this bundle would be the least amount of money I could give them for the biggest gain my end. The charcoal to faded gold is XBONE X is amazing, set up was easy peasy and all the codes came in the box ready to go. I use an Elite controller so dont have much to say on the gold rush edition but it looks pretty cool, I imagine that its just the same as any other standard xbox controller.

This would be absolutely fantastic 4 years ago. As it stands for 2019, it's not bad, I am definitely happy with it vs my high end, hideously overpriced PC. If you enjoy sitting back and putting your feet up and gaming with a controller on your HDTV, this is as good as it gets right now. I personally love it. It's a bit glitchy and slow at times and the use of a mechanical HDD is just absolutely archaic. I still totally love my Xbox one X though, everything is just so slow for the time we're living in..... it's 2019... FFS. We're being milked beyond comprehension.

Swapped to this from my Xbox One, to go in conjunction with my 4K TV;
-SAMSUNG UE43RU7400UXXU 43" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR LED TV with Bixby
Picture quality: 1900 PQI
HDR: HDR10+ / Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG)
Catch-up TV & 4K streaming
TV PLUS / Freesat HD
HDMI 2.0a x 3...

This has really upped all standards for my xbox and the quality has gone through the roof, playing titles like Rocket League, Fortnite and Gears 5 in 4k HD, with HDR shadowing, in Console mode through the Tv.. Ye the list could go in tbh, very good Xbox.

Interesting gold/silver design - subdued and dark in normal room light rather than bright in either colour.
Its a good console, but even with my reasonably fast network it took many hours to set up and download updates, tools and games. Well worth it in the end, but it would be disappointing to buy it for Christmas only to find it cannot be used until Boxing Day! My 3 stars is about set up and not the console itself which is powerful and capable.

fake item received. product is not even out yet!

The XBox One X is good for watching BlueRay Movies and playing games. However, I did not enjoy the fact that accompanying game set required downloading. It took a day to download on a 20MB BT Boardband connection.

What makes this worse is it seems most games require downloads, even when they come on disk. While it is not technically required there is a subscription fee to pay as well to play online.

Really solid purchase. Superb graphic works effortlessly with my 4K TV.

Game coded included, took 2 mins to redeem it on XBox Store.

There were 4 seals on the box, only 1 is broken. Content looks brand new along with controller.

Bought this for my 15 year old for Xmas. He was over the moon, and the colour is amazing, I know some people said seals broken and its not new etc, I assure you it's all sealed in a genuine box as you would buy from a shop, I've had no problems. Thanks
