I purchased the "Revo America Ultra 16CH 4K H.265 NVR, 4 TB Surveillance Grade HDD, Remote Access" with 8 4K cameras. Overall, I think it is a very good value, but be prepared for a few setup frustrations. Once you get past those though and have your system set up, the picture quality is fantastic at 4K. Here are a few things to be aware of:

1.) These are wired cameras, so you need to string Cat 5e or Cat6 cable from this NVR to the camera locations. They are NOT wireless. For me that is a good thing, as I don't trust wireless cameras to be as reliable.
2.) This is an NVR, not a DVR. It still records the video from the cameras, but each camera you connect to it need to be IP-addressable. Older analog cameras with BNC connectors will not work with this.
3.) REVO support has limited weekday hours. If you're trying to set this up over the weekend, you may not be able to get your questions answered until the following business day. I tried a couple web-based tickets which received sketchy answers. When I called, after about a half-hour wait on hold, the person I spoke with was very helpful.
4.) This product is their ULTRA model, which I believe to be the newest offering at the time of this writing in July 2018. But it also has very limited documentation. Be sure to get the ULTRA NVR manual, and not any of the other older REVO DVR manuals on their site. Also, the apps you will want to download all should say "ULTRA" in the titles. I mistakenly downloaded some other apps called "REVO Mobile HD" which did NOT work.
5.) I believe REVO requires you to register on their P2P Cloud service if you want to connect to the cameras remotely, like from a smartphone or tablet. I couldn't get any connection to work (and I've done alot of networking and port forwarding for other products) without registering for this. If you just want to monitor things from a wire-connected monitor near the NVR, then no worries you won't need the cloud service.
6.) Once a camera is wired and you plug it nto the back of the NVR, wait at least 60 seconds for the NVR to assign the camera an IP address. If you expect an image instantly you will think something is wrong -- just be patient and it will get there.

But again, in the end, once things were working, I am very pleased with the image quality and NVR functions.

I purchased the Revo model RU42B4E-1T.. It included four 2 MP cameras, four CAT 5 Ethernet cables, and a one Terabyte hardrive NVR. Revo is aware that only the 4 MP system is capable of audio, however they will not update their site. This is very misleading.

Pros: The cameras are heavy duty, and very well made. The picture quality is very good during the day . The system is very easy to set up, running the cable through the attic was the most time consuming. The hard drive is not too noisy. The motion feature is very sensitive. Motion and tampering can be configured to give audio alerts. I have not set up the cloud or app feature as of yet. The night vision is okay in low lighting, however there are dark spots in the back yard.

Cons: Tech support is virtually nonexistent as the techs are apathetic. The manual is trash. I watched a video of another Reo/link set up. The zoom feature does not work at all. One terabyte of storage is too small for four cameras. I am able to squeeze 6-7 days with my current settings. I have been unable to use the copy feature for some strange reason.

This is a very good starter camera system. I am very happy with the price that I paid for it which is much less than the current price. Purchase without fear of getting ripped off. I will upload pics later.

This used to be a great system. 4K picture quality is top notch. But ever since Android 11 update, the Revo Ultra app DOES NOT WORK. Do not spend hundreds of dollars on a system that CANNOT BE VIEWED ON THE APP. Really disappointing.

Works better than thought

Home security cameras for our second home. I liked that it was an easy set up. We hoped the cameras would be clearer. They’re not terrible but visibility is “ok.”

The picture quality is second to none. The 'manuals' and instruction leave some to be desired and support so far....none. If you can get past those things and figure the system out, which I'm still working on, then this is a great system. Don't let the price be the only consideration. Again the quality is worth it.

I just couldn't believe my good fortune in the purchase of this NVR. HD quality viewing at a basement price. The two cameras that came with this package are perfect for my needs and the NVR Is a space saver. I contacted customer support after setting it up to reset my password which I couldn't remember and to my surprise the response was immediate.
The very next day I had the issue resolved and I was on to setting up online viewing through my iPhone. After downloading the app the rest was a breeze.
I am very happy with this purchase so far.

The ease of installation and quality of product are well worth it. This was a great investment for the security of our home.
