I bought the pump to help build my confidence in my Ikelite housing. It pulls the air out of the housing and secures a seal while also reducing the buoyancy so diving is easier with the 8 inch dome port. I would highly recommend this. It squeaks like bed springs though, so if you're prepping behind closed doors people are going to make assumptions, haha!
