I really like this Boom Arm. I've got it hanging from the ceiling with a softbox attached to it. I can raise it or lower it and bring it forward or backward. When I'm not using it I can swing it up to the ceiling and out of the way. Seems well built.

The mount itself is of very hight quality but the hardware that comes with it is not. I recommend a trip to Home Depot for proper mounting hardware.

I've included side by side photos of the Neewer (silver) and Fovitec (black).
The Neewer has plastic collars while the Fovitec has metal.
When I put a studio light with 4ft octobox, the neewer plastic collar deforms and bends and even has gaps form as the collar starts to separate from the bar. I can't see this standing up over time This does not happen on the Fovitec.
The Fovitec also has 'beefier' hardware. stronger handles and thicker bolts (especially the one that connects the large bar to the base!) It also had appropriate spacers in the base, while the Neewer did not.

(I ordered the fovitec direct from manufacturer)
