Features:
S1 and S2 modes are applicable to slave flash to create many lighting effects, you can use the built-in flash or the top external flash as the master flash, and the flash is placed in various directions. S1 mode is valid for manual flash environment. When the flash is in S1 mode, it will flash synchronously when the master flash comparable with the effect by the flash trigger. S2 mode is valid for TTL flash environment. The flash won't flash synchronously with the first flash but the second flash from the master flash, which is the second flash synchronization.
Synchronization Function: The flash and camera will trigger synchronously by using a PC sync cord to connect the sync terminals of the camera and the flash together.
It also supports Power Saving Function, External Charging Function, Over Temperature Protection, and Systematic Over Temperature Protection.

Awaiting its arrival.Have purchased from NEEWER in the past.Owner of two of their speedlights,light stands,trigger/receivers,backdrop poles,umbrellas and other camera accessories.Never a problem over the past few years. Update, Got it.The flash (nw550) arrived and I have already put it to use. It is slightly lighter than my canon 580 ex2. First of all, the locking wheel( the ring at the bottom that secures the unit to the camera or hotshoe) is larger and more knurled than most,making it easier for those with larger hands and fingers. Second,the back panel is improved,the readings are easily seen even in a dimly lit room.When you turn it on the settings glow (blue)showing manual,slave 1,slave 2. The incriment settings (1/128,-1/1) glow in orange. The battery compartment door slides down then to the right to open. The flash head has the reflection card and difusser built in.There is a panel opening on the side if you are using tethered remotes/triggers/receiver. If you are using this flash on camera in manual,you are in total control of the flash output. If you are using the flash off camera and your camera has a built in flash,this flash will fire in sync.with camera flash when set to S1 ( slave1). When set on S2 (slave 2) it fires a split second after the main flash, and can be used with multiple flashes. As far as battery life is concerned,I used it on 2 photo shoots so far with the same batteries (mind you)both were portrait photo shoots,about 40 shots each. Overall a great addition to your photography arsenal without killing your pocket. I am therefore changing my rating to a 5 star. |
This is controlled to create the ideas photo under the conditions in play. It’s well made and well designed. It shipped quickly and was mounted on the camera taking great pictures witin a couple of days. |
